What if I need to go to the hospital?
Typically patients are admitted to the hospital through an emergency room. If it is determined that you would benefit from in-patient hospital care, your medical care will be assumed by a hospitalist. A hospitalist is a physician that does not have an office and therefore sees all of their patients in a hospital room. They are uniquely trained to handle the specialized medicine and coordination of care for “in-patients.” While you are in the hospital, Dr. Chartrand will be in regular communication with the hospitalist. After you are discharged, Dr. Chartrand will resume your care and will receive your medical records from the hospital.
