Frequently Asked Questions
We are out of network for all insurance companies. We ask our patients to pay us at the time of service. We file your claim for you electronically. You will receive an "Explanation of Benefits" from your insurance company within 30 days. You will be reimbursed directly depending upon your out of network benefits.
We ask that our patients pay us at the time of service. We charge $65 for an office visit.
For an additional fee we are able to offer procedures and diagnostic testing in the office, including stitching, casting, ultrasound, EKG, and lab work. The lab work is charged based on the individual test. Because Quest Diagnostic charges our practice directly for the lab work instead of billing your insurance company, they are able to give us extremely low rates which we pass on to you. For example, a complete blood count (CBC) is $11 and a cholesterol panel is $18.
At Harmony Family Health all costs will be explained upfront allowing you to make conscious well informed decisions concerning your care.
At Harmony Family Health, we believe that the decision to vaccinate children and infants is a personal choice. We seek to provide information and advice to support the informed decision of responsible parents. We seek to support your autonomy and provide care for your children with respect for your values and life goals. We also offer vaccine counseling for parents who wish to vaccinate using an alternative vaccine schedule.
In recent years a new specialty has developed, "the Hospitalist." A hospitalist is a physician that does not have an office and therefore sees all of their patients in a hospital room. They are uniquely trained to handle the specialized medicine and coordination of care for "in-patients." If it is determined that you would benefit from in-patient hospital care, your medical care would be assumed by a hospitalist.
Typically you would be admitted through an Emergency Room, but Dr. Chartrand will stay updated on your medical condition. After you are discharged, Dr. Chartrand will resume your care and will receive your medical records from the hospital.
Dr. Chartrand personally performs the obstetrical ultrasounds and as such can answer any questions you may have concerning your baby's anatomy. The sonograms are interpreted in real time by the physician so you will know the results right away.
They typically take 30 minutes to perform. Your midwife will receive a copy of the ultrasound report and you will be given a CD with all of your baby's pictures.
We are proud to offer acupuncture at Harmony Family Health beginning in June 2008. Dr. Chartrand is currently completing training in acupuncture at Harvard's School of Medicine, in a course designed specifically for physicians trained in western medicine. This is one of only four courses in the country recognized by the American Academy of Acupuncture.
In some cases, we might recommend acupuncture as an adjunct to conventional therapy. Acupuncture can also be used as a preventive measure to treat conditions before they are clinically active.
